Hey everyone. I wanted to create a thread to get some help and help others!

I know there's tons of pros when it comes to cooking here. So my idea was for you guys to post here your favourite easy recipe!

Try to go for meals that don't have a huge list , and that don't take like 2 h. Basically something you learned when you started, or something you cook when you don't have much time.

Would be a fun way to learn in how to give the first steps! (seriously I'm god awful at the kitchen lol)

I'll start! :)

One of my go-to recipes as a poor student:

Curry Carrot Noodles

Serves 4 - Cooking time about 15-20 minutes

500 gr tagliatelle (dried)

4 medium-sized carrots

100 ml vegetable broth

150 ml cream

2 Tbsp curry powder

chili powder as necessary

salt as necessary

a dash of lemon juice (or use greek joghurt instead of cream!)

a dash of sugar

The most time-consuming part here is to first peel the carrots with a peeler and then coninue 'peeling' until there is a huge mound of thin, broad carrot strips - but it won't take longer than cooking the tagliatelle in plenty of salted water, so that's still fine.

Once the carrots are done, gently stir fry them in a bit of oil for 1-2 minutes (or, if you want the carrots to still have some bite, skip this step). Deglaze with broth and cream and add all the spices except for the lemon juice (if using) and sugar. Cook for a further minute and add lemon juice and sugar to taste.

Drain the noodles, mix with the sauce and serve immediately.

(Of course also add salt as needed at the end!)

How about a white sauce, it is called bechamel and is a mother sauce. I learned how to make it when I was about 5. My mother made sos on a regular basis. I use it as a mac and cheese base, white pizza, white lasagna, spinach pasta, the juicy part of chik pot pie...

get a good sized frying pan. use equal amounts fat and flour, have plenty of milk or milk alternative around.

1 tablespoon oil, heat up in pan add

1 tablespoon flour, turn heat to medium and stir until oil completely incorporated into flour, stir and let the flour cook a bit to lose the raw taste, then start add your

1 cup milk and salt and pepper , stirring briskly.

The milk will bubble and thicken your mixture. Adjust your temperature to go slower or faster, just don't burn it. It will thicken then you can add a protein and serve it on toast for "sos", mix in cooked veggies and serve on toast for chick pot pie, add cooked broccoli and serve with garlic, parsley and pasta.
