Games that we always go back too
Sup peeps, so ive recently went back to playing World of Warcraft, which i guess for me isnt that strange as it is something i personally love but ive also been through a real dark part of my life, and i thought to myself wow is always something i go back to as it kinda helps me clear my mind and almost help me reorganise my irl life which to a non gamer can sound weird xD so i ask the question
What games do u always go back to when u need to heal or that always make u feel 100 times better when your down?
I enjoy playing Backgammon. It's a combination of skill and Luck, and quite engaging. It's relatively fast paced to... not drawn out like Chess
It's also a great game to play during a Power outage, as it doesn't require elelectricity
@Juzzy The same happened to me before. I was going thru a dark time and went back to WoW, but my guild disbanded and I coouldn't focus as before... So I did regret it. I came back recently to GW2 and Tera. At GW2 I am able to play with my friends and in Tera I was just enjoying the game.
Mario Kart, Sengoku Basara 3, and Arkham Asylum. I always play those over and over.
@Juzzy I Think that I could mencion The Last of Us or Life is Strange as personal stories that had a great impact on me. I have played The Las of Us like 4 times.
I also have games that I think It,s good to revisit every few years. Uncharted is just addictive and impresive. I think that some games like Dishonored, Deux Ex or maybe Mass Effect, should be played twice at least. And there are games like minecraft or Europa Unversalis IV that I play usually, almost every month and are just infinite.
Animal crossing is my favourite game ever, I've owned it on every console it's come out on and I always go back to it. It's my own little world where I can do whatever I want...... when I play I feel free.
I go back to Neverwinter
I bought a game for my 1st-gen iPhone called Perfect Cell, and have been playing it on every phone since – at least weekly. It's a 2.5D side-scroller in which you play an advanced organism that is being held captive by scientists in an underwater submarine base. You escape each of the 35 levels by solving not-too-challenging puzzles (all relevant to moving you toward an escape), and by avoiding or defeating armed guards along the way. The graphics are impressive considering the age of the game and its $2.99 price. It's easy to empathize with this creature, and I find it very satisfying to help set it free.
I replayed Star Fox 64 for a few days last week
I have Donkey Kong Country 1-3 from the days of the SNES on an emulator for my laptop.
Comfort nostalgia games for me.
I've owned Onimusha: Samurai's Destiny for many years and I still haven't gotten 100 percent completion for each of the subcharacters storylines...or found and ending where Kotaro doesn't die! Ugh, it would drive me nuts!
I also tend to go back to play Final Fantasy games because I like the gameplay and storyline, but sometimes I'll choose one based on the theme of each one.
Want something more existential so you can quote Nietzche and Camus at the screen? Go for Final Fantasy IX.
Want something more about duty and difficult decisions made for the greater good, yet still manage to ask questions about identity and reality? Oh yes, go for Final Fantasy X.
...or do you want something thats a little bit like the first but has dress spheres? Fine, go for Final Fantasy X-2.
Want a revolution story with princesses and war and sky pirates? Rush off to Final Fantasy XII!
