Does anyone Roller Skate?
I just ordered my roller skates yesterday (quads), and was just wondering if anyone else is into roller skating? or roller blading? How'd you start and what kept you in it?
I really want to get into it and it'd be nice to have other people to talk to about it.

That's an awesome hobby! I've never tried it, but it'd definitely be on my bucket list. Good luck with skating!

Thank you!

You're welcome, anytime!
@fightingscot94 I love roller skating, and it's one of my fav hobbies. I learnt this when I was 11-12 year old. I remember when I first started, I fell like hundreds of times, it took me almost a month, to get perfection in it. It was just my passion and love for skating, that let me continue it even after falling down. I used to do skating for 2-3 hour a day.
I was one of good skaters in our colony, haha I wish I could get chance to enter in a competition at district or state level to know my true ability and where I stand.
Just one tip from me, you will fall, you will get hurt, but just like every other thing in this world, when we start something we fell and we learn. Remember the first time we walked in this world? We fell like million times before standing up properly, this is just like that, a new way of walking. Enjoy the roller skating :D
A little update:
My roller skates came in on Friday! It was really exciting and I was outside in front of my house for about 2 hours after work, and I felt amazing!
The next morning, I broke my leg going to the post office on them.
I love my new skates, but it's gonna be a while before I can try again. A lot of people seem to think that I'm gonna get rid of them, but this has actually motivated me MORE to master my roller skating. The mind and heart is a very bizarre thing.
UPDATE
As of yesterday, I am officially all done with my physical therapy! My ankle has been completely healed for quite a few weeks, and my ankle has gotten a lot stronger from what it was when I started PT.
My therapist recommended not skating yet until I am able to master forward facing activities, such as jogging/running or hiking, etc. That's a little bit of a bummer, especially since it's getting a lot colder out, but I know that I'm not ready for skating again yet.
Until then, I'm hoping to possibly join a gym and get a personal trainer to help with strengthening my ankle more. I have a 6 month check up next week with my doctor, and I'll more than likely end up getting my longer screws out sometime soon. The plate they put on my ankle will stay forever, but I definitely want those screws out, especially since it's optional to leave them in. I'm only 24, and I don't want them to break or anything when they're in there.
Honestly I'm so excited to be done with all of this stuff and to get those screws out. It's going to be nice to be able to work towards my health goals again and to not be stuck on my couch. And I can't wait to work towards getting back on my skates and teaching myself again.
