International No Plastic Bags Day
In the land of obscure holidays, July 3rd is International Plastic Bag FREE day... meaning, not using plastic bags today.
One idea is - Say No to Plastics and do your part to make this place a better one for future generations. Take pictures of your alternative plastic bag activities, and share them on social media using #PlasticBagFreeDay.
If you are REALLY intentional and environmentally conscious, you could challenge yourself to go all week, or all month, without using plastic bags!

Unfortunately, yes. Reducing plastic bag usage is vital as they are a major contributor to plastic pollution. These single-use bags take hundreds of years to break down, contaminating soil and waterways, harming wildlife, and posing a threat to human health when microplastics enter the food chain. Switching to reusable alternatives helps minimize this environmental damage significantly.

I try to keep a reusable bag in my vehicle, so I can use it, instead of plastic ones, when I go shopping. Some of our groceries have paper bags, maybe half of them.

I remember plastic bags being banned for a little while. However, the production soon resumed to normal. A stricter implementation is needed.

My local store no longer has plastic bags, they have for sale 'bags for life' reusable bags or you have to bring your own. I hate the way we have so much plastic around, it never used to really register until now.
@MistyMagic - When i was growing up, my mother was very environmentally conscious. She was reusing and recycling before it was the 'cool' thing to do. So, I guess it's just something I've always been aware of.
