Kickboxing Incident

I dislocated my knee in my first ever kickboxing grading (just my luck!). I was bed ridden for a week and practically had to learn to walk again over the next 6 months - the muscles in my left leg had wasted away and just everything was weak. It was a horrendous injury. I also lost my job.

A couple of months after improving and being able to walk again fairly well, I gently got back into kickboxing with support. Everyone told me to quit kickboxing because of my weak joints but I enjoyed it and wanted to continue.

I then went for my grading again and I was really worried about my knee but I completed it and double graded! At the end, the sensei told everyone what happened (many knew because they were there, two girls were sick) and that he was proud of me that I had the courage to go through it, return and pass my grading. I got a round of applause and felt quite emotional. It was lovely. :)

I'm currently a blue belt in kickboxing but I've left that academy for numerous reasons and I'm just finding courage to start in a new kickboxing academy!

Yeah, it was very painful. I still get pain with my knee and general weakness even though it happened a couple of years ago. It's always going to have permanent damage.

Thank-you. :)

Oh i understand these injuries can take a long time to recover! But what's great about this, is you never let it stop you, or get in the way of your dreams, and that my friends is determination!

Brilliant 😀
