Which language would you like to learn?
I started learning Swedish a while ago! I want to start it again. Duolingo is a great app if you want to learn languages :)
Spanish, Finnish, Russian, Greek, Chinese if I could
Plus Italian, French but firstly Spanish since so common and a dynamic language.
Then French perhaps
LOL
But I have no motivation or wish to learn a new language, I wsih I had a magical stick.
@BeyondTheInfinity
I want to become more fluent in Spanish, and maybe learn some non-European language like Mandarin, or an African language like Swahili. They sound very interesting linguistic-wise
@JayTheBird14 would you please share what measures or steps are you taking in becoming more fluent in spanish?
@BeyondTheInfinity
Sure! Currently I'm practising on Duolingo, which is a free language learning app. Aside from regular practises, they have flashcards, reading and listening exercises. It's a lot of fun.
Aside from that I'm watching Netflix in Spanish sometimes. I pick old kids movies or shows that I've seen a gazilion times when I was younger. I practically know exactly what the characters say, so I watch them in Spanish with Spanish subtitles. Though sometimes I have to look things up, because most shows are in Mexican Spanish.
I hope I get to practise my fluency too when I go to Mexico this upcoming summer (though I know Mexican Spanish differs from the Spanish spoken in Spain.)
I want to finish learning Japanese, and then maybe learn Spanish and German.
@BeyondTheInfinity French now and still lil patch up in english
@CandidSomething what do you mean by lil patch up in english?
@BeyondTheInfinity my english skill hasn't been excellent enough Beyond. Still learning how to choose diction and phrases. Still too much broken english need to patched. Like this word "patch". Lmao
i want to become more fluent in French and then maybe start learning Japanese. maybe some Icelandic too?
@EllieKB that is nice! would you like to share what measures or steps will you take in becoming more fluent in french?
@BeyondTheInfinity
i'm working on my reading a lot at the moment (my goal is to read a short french novel this year) but i've also set my languages on video games and website to be french. i've found it's a good way of practicing in a practical way.
i would like to start listening to french podcasts/ audiobooks to improve my listening skills as well because i still sometimes struggle with that
@BeyondTheInfinity
I've always wanted to learn Latin! I think it is a very interesting language.
It'd also make learning languages like Italian easier!
Japanese
Spanish! It's a slow process though
@BeyondTheInfinity
French, Spanish and German maybe
