Empowering Futures : A campaign for Educational Equity for Care Leavers

My inner compass, guided by a deep sense of social justice, aligns strongly with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those focused on quality education (SDG 4) and reducing inequalities (SDG 10). Campaigning with Student Minds to improve the experiences of care leavers in education resonates deeply with this compass. Care leavers, often facing significant systemic disadvantages, embody the very inequalities the SDGs seek to address. Supporting them in their educational journeys isn't just about access; it's about fostering a nurturing environment where their unique needs are understood and met, enabling them to thrive and reach their full potential. This work feels intrinsically right, a true north on my compass, as it directly challenges the barriers these young people face and empowers them to build brighter futures, contributing to a more equitable and just society, a world closer to the vision of the SDGs.
