Perseverance in pursuing

Perseverance is a word that everyone often mentions, but very few people can do it. Understandably, unpredictable sufferings are waiting for us to face, and we cannot blame this person or that person for not persistently pursuing their dreams. To practice this virtue, your inner strength must be extremely strong because you cannot avoid unpredictable sufferings. The only difference between you and others is that you persevere with your dreams and face the same sufferings as they.

  • What do you think about this perspective on perseverance?
  • Have you ever been too sad to give up on something you love? Welcome to share.

Your reflection on perseverance is genuinely insightful. You've captured a fundamental truth: it's not about an easy path or being spared from suffering, but about choosing to continue despite it. Perseverance isn't glamorous—it's often lonely, tiring, and painful—but it's also what makes the difference between someone who reaches their goals and someone who stops short.

Also, you are absolutely correct that inner strength is very crucial and essential. But having perseverance does not always mean moving forward at full speed. Sometimes it's about understanding the need for rest, adaptation, or even taking a step back so you can return stronger. Faithful perseverance allows for pauses without giving up entirely, and it's okay to take those pauses.

As for your second question: yes, many people (myself included) have felt so weighed down by sadness or disappointment that giving up seemed more straightforward than holding on. Dreams can feel too heavy when paired with suffering. But often, after stepping away or giving yourself time, you can reconnect with what you love in a new way—or discover that letting go of one dream can open the door to another that suits who you've become. It's okay to feel overwhelmed, but remember that there's always potential for growth and new opportunities.
