Discovering Self-Awareness in Daily Life⛅

Lately, I’ve realized how much self-awareness shapes the way I handle everyday situations.

For example, when I feel stressed, I notice my heart racing and my focus slipping. In the past, I would push through without thinking, but now I pause and ask myself: Why am I reacting this way?

That small moment of awareness helps me choose a calmer response, whether it’s taking a break or asking for help.

Self-awareness also helps me recognize my strengths. I’ve noticed that perseverance is something I naturally lean on, especially when I’m facing challenges at school or work. By being aware of this, I can intentionally use it to keep moving forward instead of doubting myself.

I think the Being domain reminds us that growth starts from within. For me, journaling and reflecting at the end of the day are simple ways to strengthen this skill and move toward greater authenticity🌟

Some questions for reflection:

  • Can you share one moment when being self-aware changed how you reacted?

  • What small practices help you stay aware of your emotions or behaviors?

Thank you for sharing 💚

I know when I'm tired, my emotions can be set to very reactory.

I know how you identify if I need a breather in a certain situation or if I need to count to ten and give myself time to just feel calmer about a situation.

I've learnt I like to be a perfectionist and sometimes life doesn't go to plan and I need to learn how to cater to the unexpected 💚🥰

@Amanda84

Thank you so much for opening up 💚

I really felt what you said about being more reactive when you’re tired. I’m the same, it’s like my emotions sit closer to the surface on those days.

Noticing that and giving yourself a moment to pause or breathe before reacting is such a steady, grounding habit. It really does shift how we handle stressful moments.

And your point about perfectionism resonated with me too. I’m also someone who likes things to go “just right,” so when life takes a different turn, it can feel overwhelming.

It sounds like you’re learning to meet those moments with more flexibility and kindness toward yourself, which is such meaningful growth.

It’s really encouraging to hear how you’re navigating these things with more self‑awareness. Thank you again for sharing,  it adds a lot to the conversation 💚
