Openness And Learning Mindset
Being an active listener on 7 Cups has taught me that every conversation is different. Sometimes I enter a chat thinking I understand what someone might be feeling, but as the conversation continues, I realize there is so much more to their experience than I first assumed.
This experience has helped me develop a more open and learning mindset. I’ve learned that listening is not about having all the answers or trying to “fix” people. Instead, it is about staying curious, being willing to understand someone’s perspective, and accepting that everyone experiences life differently.
There have also been moments where conversations challenged my own assumptions or helped me see situations in a new way. I think growth happens when we allow ourselves to learn from others instead of immediately judging or jumping to conclusions.
Having an openness and learning mindset also means being patient with ourselves. We are all constantly learning, growing, and improving little by little. No one gets everything right all the time, and that is okay.
For me, one of the most meaningful parts of listening is realizing how much we can learn simply by being present and open to other people’s stories.
What does having an open mindset mean to you?
@AmySky24
Having an open mindset means putting my bias aside.
Leaving my misconceptions behind.
Not being quick to judge.
Ask questions for clarity.
And truly listen.
If you have never walked in someone else's shoes, you won't ever fully comprehend what they've gone through.
And culturally we all come at things differently 💛
