Self-awerness and presence

One of many things that really made me think deeply in this course is this - self-awareness and presence. I realized that at some point in my life, I didn't know who I was. Other people's opinions about me defined me and I was trying to make them satisfied, not myself. That is something that I'm working on too, but definitely now I'm many steps closer than where I was. I learned a lot of things about myself, I found myself somewhere in this world, I am surrounded by the right people. I became self-aware of my own existence and of the beauty of the world that surrounds us. That is truly an awakening. Also, something that I also learned and currently learning is living in the present moment and being grateful for things in life. Gratitude really does fulfill life with joy and happiness and living in the present makes every day more enjoyable. That's why a present is also called a gift. When we learn to live in the moment and be grateful for things in our lives, we can enjoy this life on Earth to the full maximum and with a lot of happiness, smiles, joy, and love. I wish that a lot of that, all that happiness, love, and everything good come into your life, whoever is reading this. 🤗

I think it's super important to focus on the present because you might find yourself missing out on stuff when you're too busy focusing on the future. Whenever I start worrying about something in the future, I try to remind myself to focus on the present because whatever I'm worried about hasn't happened yet. Don't need to suffer this whole time.

Taking a moment to appreciate the little things around us can truly enhance our day. 😊

@helianthus19 This reflection is so beautiful and inspiring! Self-awareness and presence truly transform the way we experience life, and I love how you connected gratitude with living in the moment.

For me, something that helps me feel more present and better about myself is mindful reflection and intentional self-care—whether that’s taking a peaceful bike ride, listening to music that lifts my mood, or simply pausing to appreciate little things like the warmth of the sun or a kind message from a friend. Also, setting small, meaningful goals for the day and celebrating even the tiniest achievements makes a big difference in how I feel.

One question I love asking myself when I feel disconnected is: “If today was the only day I had, how would I want to experience it?” That always brings me back to the present.

How about you? What’s one small thing you can do today to feel more connected to yourself and the moment? 💛

I think one thing I could do today is take a few minutes just to pause and appreciate where I am, instead of constantly thinking about what I need to do next. I could practice gratitude by focusing on the small things—like the fact that I’m healthy or that I have people who care about me. I’ve noticed that even just acknowledging those little moments helps me feel more grounded and connected to the present.

Also, I could try doing something that makes me feel like myself, like spending time with a good friend, playing soccer, or just doing something creative. Those activities make me feel more in tune with who I am, and they remind me that life isn’t all about goals and expectations but also about enjoying the now.
