Perspective Taking
The world is made up of different people. People who have different ideas, thoughts, opinions, values, beliefs, and perspectives. These differences can be attributed to upbringing, culture, or simply individual uniqueness.
Being able to take different perspectives is a crucial cognitive skill that allows people to understand situations, ideas, and emotions from multiple viewpoints. This ability strengthens critical thinking by encouraging open-mindedness and reducing our biases in the way we think. This course highlighted just how crucial it is to be able to seek and understand differing opinions and thoughts.
When we consider contrasting perspectives, we are much more likely to recognize an issue as complex and nuanced, rather than right or wrong, black or white. Perspective-taking enhances efficiency in solving problems and also encourages empathy and effective communication.

I have learnt that everyone comes from a different environment, a different upbringing. People think differently and heal differently and what works for me doesn't mean that it will work for them. People have had different experiences to mine. They carry different expectations and it's important to park my bias and really listen and learn 💜💕
