I woke up way too early this morning. Though I must admit, it was quite a spectacle outside. Sun barely cracking the sky. Fog. It was a pretty picture.
I got a head start, but I was ragged out after CAD class this morning. By the time I got to mechanical systems, I was on the verge of napping in class.
It also didn't help seeing the fat stack of online work we have to do. I plan on doing it, but it's really discouraging when you see a mountain of work and think "crap....".
I've been apartment scouting around the Lincoln area. I found a place near Logan martin lake that I really like. And the rent is much lower than Pell City. My mother kind of burst my bubble a little when I brought it up. I know I'm just an intern, but I think I can get hired at the plant, and I want my own living space. I get so tired of being bitched at for the smallest things. Laundry, showering at night, blah blah blah. I know it's with good intentions, but it's getting really old.
And when that was said, I sometimes wonder if I WILL get hired. I wonder where I'll be next year. I get so sick of school I wish I could quit and go work full time. Working with equipment services was pretty dope. Long hours, but a good trade off for the benefits. And I actually get to do things, rather than waste my time behind a desk.
I'm probably just wicked tired and going off on a millennial rant. Maybe I should get a t shirt with that printed on it.
@Nick8876 - If you think that you are likely to be hired full time after the internship, can you wait until then for the apartment? That way you still have it to look towards (and the research you're doing now will still be helpful in finding a place!), but it might allay some of your mom's worries about it while you're just on an intern salary.
