A Quiet Kind of Stirring

I don’t know what made me reach for this notebook tonight. Maybe it’s the quiet. Or maybe I just needed to spill my thoughts somewhere that wouldn’t talk back or walk away.

Today felt strange—not bad, not good. Just… off. Like I was moving through fog, not quite touching the ground. I kept doing things—washing dishes, answering messages, folding laundry—but it all felt mechanical. No spark. No real presence. I smiled at people. I laughed at the right times. But I wasn’t in any of it.

I keep wondering if that part of me—the part that feels things fully, deeply, messily—is just sleeping. Or if I’ve hidden it so well even I can’t find it anymore.

There was one moment, though. Just one. I was outside, and the wind caught the edge of the trees, sending a cascade of golden leaves spinning down like confetti. It was such a small thing, but I just stopped and watched. And for those few seconds, I felt something stir in my chest. It hurt, but in that alive kind of way.

Maybe that’s what I need more of. Small moments. Not trying to fix everything all at once, just... letting the world in a little at a time.

Anyway, that’s all for now. I don’t know if I feel better, but I feel heard. And maybe that’s enough for tonight.

I felt this in my soul… I feel like this all the time. The numbness and methodicalness inside, the occasional tiny spark of life…

@ScorpiaD What a beautiful way with words you have. I felt I was there. I have been there.
