Day 2 of Accidentally Inhaling Nicotine From My Brother's Vape

I recently reached out to the support group chat about this, but I feel thid urge to talk about it more. This is a diary, after all.

So what happened is that two days ago, I saw my brother's vape and inhaled it out of curiosity. Once. I felt dizzy, light headed, it was the worst feeling in my life. I don't want it to ever happen again. I hate myself for it.

Now this is where the problem starts: ever since inhaling that nicotine, my breathing has began to struggle. My anxiety was up the roof that I thought I might have contracted some lung disease. But my friends, people on Reddit, and even people here said it won't affect me and what's happening to me now is more of an anxiety thing.

To this day, I still feel terrible about this and I still have a hard time breathing. I wonder when this will end. People are saying it will ease off soon, and I really hope it does.

NOTE: I'm okay with replies. I just wanted to let this out. Thanks!

It's unlikely the nicotine itself is affecting your breathing like that, but other stuff in the vape can if you're sensitive to something.

For me, being around a campfire or 2nd hand smoke can be a problem.

I also have a confirmed allergy to a common ingredient used in most vapes, regardless of the drug.

If it seems like more than anxiety symptoms, best to get it checked out. For me, with inhalant types of triggers I can increase some meds and use others that I do not use all of the time. I have known issues though and prescribed meds.

@sunkistcherry

It does sound like an anxiety issue. One puff from a vape is not going to have such severe consequences and an allergic reaction wouldn't last this long.

@confusedRaven6140 I have had allergic reactions last a while, plus something like an asthma trigger can cause an asthma flare for quite some time.
