How I Fake It
Look down unless youre talking to someone. Smile when people address you. Change the subject when it gets too close to something you struggle with. If you feel emotional, go home. Be alone. No one wants to see that. Dont go to therapy, you dont need someone to support you. You dont need to share what you think about. Sharing it only makes it real. Keep doing the things you have to like nothing ever changed. Pretend you still have interest in the things you did before. Drown yourself in work, it makes time slower and its an excuse for being tired which is an excuse for looking sad.
This is how I fake it. By it, I mean happiness. Im really quite good at it.
@1horsegirl1 Seems like a pretty good guide to faking happiness.
Just one thing. Therapy isn't for support, which you don't need. Therapy is for dealing with whatever it was that changed back then in a different way, to allow you the freedom to find real happiness in the future, assuming you ever wanted to try that.
I would invite you to chat, except that I'm on a break from 1-to-1 chats for a few weeks. Feel free to message me, though, if you like. I'll always reply as soon as I can.
