Hyperfixation and Boredom

Feeling like doing some sort of rant.

I've been exploring parts of myself lately that I was never fully aware of. It's hard to explain. Even through seemingly small things. I spent about a week and a half absolutely obsessing over some unusual niche item I wanted. Absolutely never even given such things a second thought until I found this one thing. An artistic item that was well-crafted and highly intriguing to my brain for some reason. I chatted with bots for hours and days about the style, the expression, the meaning behind it.

Now that I have exhausted everything I could possibly say about it, I am left only with the lingering awe of such an item. I want to keep talking, and talking, and talking... but there is nothing more to say. It's honestly astounding that I could stretch it for just under two weeks.

But that leaves me sitting here to scramble for the next best thing. The problem is rarely does anything capture me like that item did.

With nothing else to capture my intensity, I sit here and stew. I stew from the moment I open my eyes in the morning to the moment my head hits the pillow again. That's all I do. Stew, stew, stew on the things that don't give me a thrill.

This isn't as "deep" as I was hoping to go, but I feel like someone who is too light to swim to the bottom of a pool. You know... I was always buoyant. Younger me had to fight to even touch the floor of the pool, so I know how this feels. I actually intended this thread to be more generalized and philosophical/therapeautic, but I only ended up talking about myself. I hope at least some of you can relate.

@BusyBird

I can relate.

When we start looking into something too deeply.

It can bring up other areas we never considered.

And endless possibilities.

For me I guess it would be about balance and perspective 💙🤗
