The maze

Pushing away
While in a fight to lose the pain
Can't see straight
But I watch as others walk away
Realizing it'll never fade
Just consume me in its rage
My guard is up
Which builds my walls
It all keeps everyone away
People have tried to find their way through the maze
Getting lost in all my old memories
Nightmares keeping me on edge
Not willing to let anyone in
Scared of committing to someone
Knowing it'll get in my way
I'm sorry I lost hope
Promise don't forget me
Cared for so long
Yet I'm feeling kinda empty
