My... life? (Advice appreciated!)
Hey, this isn't the most serious problem but I just want to get it out of my system, so... and all advice/comments are appreciated!
I have no idea but when I really like a teacher (which happens so often it's so annoying) I really really really want them to like them best. It's stupid, I know, and it often leaves me thinking about it whenever I'm not thinking about something else... and there's no way to make it go away? I keep on thinking of reasons why she'd like me best and why she wouldn't and possible people she might like better and I've even made lists and honestly this is a bit concerning...
Anyways, because I've somehow convinced myself that she doesn't like me (wow, thanks brain), I'm just putting the situation and can y'all tell me what you think? I know this is a really stupid question to ask but if it doesn't get answered I'll just never stop thinking about it. Please be honest, thank you in advance!
So, she's my AP Chinese teacher. (I live in China, 11th grade, I transferred to the international school she teaches at six weeks ago.) She is absolutely amazing - all of the other teachers at the school are American, and don't get me wrong, I love American, but I just feel like they're not strict enough for it to help with my studies? But she's the perfect mix of American and Chinese - strict, but she can joke around and talk with students.
I'm honestly not the best at Chinese - I'm more of a math/science person, languages aren't my strong suit - but the school I transferred from was the best school where I am, and it's really well-known; everyone knows how prestigious it is. Well, actually, I'm making an A in Chinese, but it's a low A (93.8) and there's a 12th grader in the class who is much better at Chinese than I am (though he's terrible at physics).
I'd say she doesn't have any reason not to dislike me, other than this time when I'd first transferred to the school and thought that we could use our phones in classrooms when the class hadn't started yet. We couldn't and she kinda told me off, but she knew that I didn't know the rules yet. I'm also much more polite to her than the 12th grader who's getting better grades than me - he keeps on talking back and stuff (in a joking way, but still).
Okay this is stupid and I think I'll just stop now 😭
You really want her to like you and I think that’s normal. It just get too extreme somehow hahah. I don’t know, if you want her to like you I guess you can try to impress her or something. I don’t understand why you want to compete with others as I think it’s fine if she likes others too. Or are you possessive? 🤭 But it’s normal too if we want to be special to someone, especially the one we like. Well, I think you’re quite weird (I’m just being honest sorry hahah) but if you’re happy living that way then just go on!
Just remember, we can’t control people. And expectation may hurts. Be your best self and put some noticeable effort, and then let things unfold naturally. Wishing you the best :D
