Before you read just know that this is a vent please tell me if I have to put warnings

ok so I’m the quiet kid at school always have. The one who is always reading or doodling or daydreaming the one who is weird and it’s just so annoying sometimes. I do have a few friends but we are all quiet kids so it was easy. It’s always been hard to make friends since I get scared I’m annoying them by talking. I’ve dealt with the usual being considered weird, names, the trying to make a joke of you. That one is the worst. I was stuck next to two of the most annoying kids and it was ***. They would constantly say my name just to say something rude or make fun of me/ someone. I’m always the butt of the joke to others. When ever I say something they do the stupid side eye thing with that smile and I hate it. But I think the worst thing I’ve dealt with was a kid telling the whole *** school we were dating.

ok So I was reading my book and this kid ( who I’ve never talked to) comes up to me and sits down next to me asking about my book and I responded actually happy since someone was taking interest in my books. After a while he put his arm around which immediately made my freeze. I didn’t know what to do so I turned to my friend for help and we didn’t know what to do( later one he apparently said I ‘leaned into him’ when I turned to my friend T_T) luckily my friend from lacrosse got me away and we sat down somewhere different he followed and put his hand on my back. I was fed up at this point and told him to get his hand off me. He did. For 3 seconds before putting his hand on my back again. Some kid walked up to us and asked if we were dating. I immediately said no but he did yes… so for a bit people kept asking if we were dating I kept saying no. But then I learned his friends *** recorded the whole thing and I think put it online. The whole thing was horrible and made me close off to anyone outside of my friend group even more. I know this isn’t like a horrible thing but I just wanted to put out my experience since I’ve never gotten this off my chest and to this day it still bugs me.

@TaylorTheFrog I appreciate you reaching out and sharing your experience. Venting can be a helpful way to release emotions and find support. It sounds like being the quiet kid at school has been challenging for you, and I understand how frustrating and hurtful it can be when others make fun of you or try to belittle you. Nobody deserves to be treated that way.

The situation you described with the kid who made you uncomfortable is definitely not okay. It's unfortunate that some people choose to make fun of others or spread rumours. Your feelings of discomfort and confusion are completely valid, and it's important to set boundaries and speak up for yourself when someone crosses them It's important to remember that you are not defined by other people's opinions or actions.

Feeling comfortable and safe at school is crucial for your well-being. If you haven't already, it might be helpful to talk to a trusted adult, such as a teacher or counsellor, about what you've been going through. They can offer guidance and support, and they may be able to address the situation.

Remember that your experiences, even if they may not seem “horrible” to others, are still significant and valid. It's important to acknowledge the impact they have had on you. Closing off to protect yourself is a natural response, but it's also important to find a supportive network where you can feel safe and understood.
