Therian Vent|| Letter To My Precious Pups
TW)) Implied death. Please do not comment on this unless you are a therian. Also don't comment, 'You are a human, bruh."
My dearest Köfin, Thalen, and my sweet Vale,
I may no longer be with you, but my love will never fade.
I remember the joy I felt when I realized I was to be a mother.
'What would you look like?' I wondered. 'How many of you would there be?'
I was so young, but nature moves at a fast pace.
I laid in the sun, looking at my swollen flanks with love.
I remember when you were born, just three little scraps of fur.
Blind and helpless you crawled towards me and burrowed into my belly.
I saw myself in your tiny bodies, and your father in the shape of your heads.
'Dearest Daak, we have three pups. I know your spirit looks down on them and is proud.'
I remember the warm sun and playing in the grass,
Watching you scuffle and chase under my watchful eye.
'Mama! Mama! Look I caught a leaf!'
A great catch, my love! A mighty hunter you are!
I remember the colder winter months when it snowed, and you shivered and snuggled up to me seeking my warmth.
'Mother, I'm cold...!'
Little one, why not stay here under my tail?
It's cold out there because Father Frost is blowing his icy breath upon the world.
When the rainstorms came, and the trees creaked around us, you huddled up.
'Mama...I'm scared!'
Tell me why, my dear. I'll listen to everything. No matter what I'll always be with you.
I defended you from predator's jaws,
And taught you the ways of the wild.
'Mother, what is that big brown animal? She has offspring as well! Is she like us?'
Yes, my dear. That is our Sister Bear. She sleeps during the winter and emerges in spring.
'Mama? Why do we hunt the Elk? It doesn't seem fair!'
Sweet, we hunt only to survive, never for sport. We eat the Elk, yes, but when we die our bodies become grass.
Elk eat the grass that we become. You see, we are all connected in the fight for survival.
To hunt, to run, to care for scraped paws,
And how to be strong and abide by the wild's laws.
'Mama!!! My paw hurts!!'
Come to mother, let me see. It's just a little scrape. Let me clean it.
'Mama...? How can you hunt all alone? Aren't you scared?'
Yes, little one. I am scared. But I must face my fears because if I didn't hunt, you and I and your siblings would starve.
Everything I do has a consequence. For this reason, I cannot be afraid of what may happen.
Watching you grow was the greatest joy in my life,
Seeing you become strong, independent, and loyal.
Kofin, my pup with fur as brown as the dark oak,
The strongest of your litter you will always be.
Oh, you were a wild one, that's for sure.
My tail and ears were never safe from playful nibbles when you were around.
'Mama! Mama! Let's romp and play! Can I chase your tail?'
Oh, my little ruffian. Of course, we can play. Catch me if you can!
And lets not forget Thalen, who's pelt is as black as a raven's wing.
You, my love, were always independent, intelligent, and watchful.
Not even the scuffling beetle escaped your sharp eyes.
'Mother? Why does the spider know how to spin a web? Did its mother teach it, just like you taught me to hunt?'
I know not, my dear, but I know that its mother must have loved it as much as I love you.
Sweetest Vale, my precious and only daughter.
Your fur was the same stormy grey as mine.
You were shy and as timid as the fawn, and always stuck close to my side.
You never left me alone, always following me, close on my tail.
'Mama, don't go hunting again alone! It's so dangerous...and I miss you when you are gone.'
Don't worry, my sweet, I'm not going anywhere. Why don't we lay here in the sun awhile?
So, run free and wild, my darling little ones,
Chase the wind and the stars, for out there, somewhere...
You are there...
Your spirits have passed on from your wolf bodies,
But somewhere in the stars, the mountains, the ocean, the plains...
You are there.
Remember the lessons I taught you well,
Life can be tough,
But as my legacy, you carry on,
Through the mountains, forests, and snow.
When the world goes to die,
You can find me in the sky...
We will hunt the White Stag with Mother Moon.
We can dance with Brother Bear and Sister Snake,
With our friends the Otter, the Heron, the Rainstorm.
Everyone from my mother's stories will be there.
We will join them, the Colliding Sun and Moon, the Lover's Dance.
It will all be okay, you'll see.
I'll see you again, and I'll lick your hurts and bruises again.
I'll feel your little noses buried in my fur, your little teeth nibbling my paws and ears and tail.
I'll listen to your fears, I'll lick away your tears.
I'll hold you close again as we run through the trees,
We'll chase the breeze, we'll count the clouds, we'll play in the rain and get lost in the flowers.
It will be just like old times.
Just you...and me....
@TheGambitSystem This is very beautifully written. As a wolf therian myself, I completely feel your pain. May hope and Love come into your life. :)
And hopefully you will see your pups again. In a different life, or the one we are in now. Keep a look out. :)
@TheGambitSystem
The way you wrote this made me feel something so painful, I am so sorry, I hope you will see your pups again, I understand how hard it must be to be away from them. I bet they are out there right now, running through the forest and remembering their sweet and loving mother every single minute.
