"What is wrong with me?"-an enquiry.
Since I was a child, I have never really gelled or moved in social circles very well. I am able to socialize, yes, but have rarely been able to connect to people-this feeling that many of the peers I have met so far in life do not 'get me' (nor do I 'get them')so to speak. This is not to say I experienced alienation, in spite of this perceivedisolation. I am extroverted by nature, but my friends are few and deep.
I posed the title"What is wrong withme" in a figurative way, as it was a question I used to ask myself sometimes when introspectingmy mind. Whatever this cute, strange, personality of mine is, Ihave embraced it. My only question is, is there a reason I am this way?
By this I mean, is there perhaps some condition I have that I have not known about all this time growing up? Or is my personality just so uniquely shaped by my experiences and environment hat has resulted in this outlook and way of approaching the world?
I want to consult a psychologist about this perhaps, but I am hesitant about making the appointment as it is more a personal curiosity and self-discovery thingy than like, an actual mental health concern or issue; I would not want to waste the practitioner's time.
What are your thoughts, friends? If there's anyone here who has a knowledge or background of psychology, I'd appreciate an opinion.
Thanky'all,
StJaume
Hi There StJaume!
Everyone grows up in differently often shaped of their childhood memories and teachings. You are shaped from your childhood and can effect your decisions and way of life today. You also often take in traits of your parents as I'm sure you know. There is nothing wrong with not moving in social circles very well or being able to connect. For people like myself, I find it difficult to find others to connect or really get me too. Many people also know how you feel. Do not worry, you will find someone. Now to your question "What is wrong with me", your answer is nothing. Your mind and you are special and unique and sometimes you can feel that you are completely different to the others. But somehow we all share things in common. The fact that everyone is different makes us all unique. We all grow up from our chilldhood as that is where our learning begins which is how you are shapedinto this world.
Good Luck
Gabbie :)
