The title explains itself.
If you're interested in the ramblings of a middle-aged man with chronic conditions who, at times, sees things a little too clearly for his own good, then read on.
Sometimes I get political, but it won't be all the time.
I don't mind comments in general but if you're going to differ with what I write, that's fine--as long as you can explain your position clearly & reasonably. Rants, shouting & general incoherence will be ignored or flagged, depending on the situation. Try to remember that not everyone else in this world holds your beliefs.
Every so often I may post art or snapshots of projects I'm working on.
If you're still interested after reading all the above, great. (I do wonder at how much time you have on your hands, though)

Soon as I get more sleep nights, I'm gonna go out & find somethin'....it must be the work I've been doing. Physical labor gets the circulation going, with other side-effects...
Out of boredom after waking up late at night/early this morning, I found the obituary of my rabbi. He officiated on the 8th day after my birth, & during my bar mitzvah...Jesus on toast, that was so long ago. He helped run the synagogue I was in until my mid-teens...
He died in 2022....was born in 1938, which I didn't know until now. The guy outlived my old man.
I'm not greatly saddened...by the time I reached adulthood we had lost contact. I'd moved on. Am just struck by how fast time goes by--again.
We really don't have much time at all, in this world.
About 85% of Port-au-Prince is run by gangs now. The government of Haiti does not control its country's capital.
I swear, they never settle down over there...

Ahh, Mr. Twisty... Since that post I've gotten a bit of sleep. Still have head pain but it's not as bad now. Thinking the propanolol is what helped...
@slowdecline48 Glad you got some sleep and that the head ache isn't as bad. I usually pop a few Tylenol pm before bed.

When I was into survivalism in my late teens, one thing I wanted was to be able to survive a nuclear war.
Since then, of course I've grown...aged....changed. (Hopefully for the better but I'm not assuming) I have also learned a lot more about the world, & a few things about the powers that run it.
And now? If we ever witness a full-on nuclear exchange...not only is there little chance of my (or your) surviving it, but TBF I don't want to. I would rather die within the first minute.
Because if we ever stumble into a nuclear war, the people who die within minutes would be the lucky ones.
@slowdecline48 Neither have I. At times though I must admit, I'm a little jealous that people can get so much comfort from it.
I agree too with if it would come down to nuclear war. Just let me vaporize in the first few moments but it will be h.ell to be here afterwards. The world is so ... Messed up right now.
Tripped & banged my left foot last night while doing laundry...the big toe was sensitive & slightly swollen when I looked at it this morning. So I'm staying off my feet until my foot recovers. The logging, vine- & weed-hacking & shelter-building will have to wait.
Have you ever heard the saying about when life is good, it's a bowl of cherries? Right now, mine is a bowel of cherry pits at best.

Tired of being in pain & being tired...
Every man has his vice...at least one.
The man without any of the usual vices--drink, legal w33d, women of dubious reputation, etc.--is the one you want to avoid. Because his vice is probably religion or ideology taken to the nth degree.
The other thing is, sometimes a vice is the only thing left to carry you through the day...or night.

Today I learned that with all the other British comic book heroes like Judge Dredd* & Union Jack, in the 1980's one of their more cartoony heroes was--are you ready for it?--"Banana Man."
Seriously.
That sounds more like an XX-rated spoof of a superhero movie than an actual superhero in comics!... They drew him with moobs, too!
