If you're interested in the ramblings of a middle-aged man with chronic conditions who, at times, sees things a little too clearly for his own good, then read on.
Sometimes I get political, but it won't be all the time.
I don't mind comments in general but if you're going to differ with what I write, that's fine--as long as you can explain your position clearly & reasonably. Rants, shouting & general incoherence will be ignored or flagged, depending on the situation. Try to remember that not everyone else in this world holds your beliefs.
Every so often I may post art or snapshots of projects I'm working on.
If you're still interested after reading all the above, great. (I do wonder at how much time you have on your hands, though)

Moses on a f***ing pogo stick, I hope this doesn't require another trip to the doctor. Just switched insurance as it is, so I don't know the one I've got now. Guess this is as good a time to meet her as any other. *sigh* 😞
@slowdecline48 Rest is a good idea. Trying to work through a headache would just make it worse. Sorry you're feeling lousy Slow. 😕
@mytwistedsoul Nowhere near as much head pain today (I actually got some sleep!)...but my left foot is still the same. Gonna see someone about it as soon as there's an opening. If it's too long I could always resort to the American tactic of going to the nearest walk-in clinic or emergency room.

Glad to hear you got some sleep and the head pain eased. Sleep is such an amazing cure for things. It sucks that it's so hard to get. I would love to get 8-10 hours like some people talk about. Even 6 would be nice. Although with that much sleep I probably would hurt like h.ell when I got up 😅
One thing I like to see out here: dragonflies. There are quite a few of 'em flying around my place. I always spare them...sometimes if I'm out on the land & not cutting trees or anything, if a dragonfly lands near me then I try not to move too close or quickly, so as not to scare the creature. They're always welcome on my property. Let 'em hang around...catch & eat as many other insects as they want.
Dragonflies are basically pre-Triassic-era insects. Apart from their size, they've hardly changed in well over 300 million years. Isn't that fascinating?

If this were a perfectly good world, no one would ever wake up around 3:30 in the morning & then immediately get out of bed (or in my case, out of my seat) because of an attack of the runs.
Human intestines... *smfh*

My latest nightmare was kinda like a cut-rate half-∆ssed version of No Country for Old Men... I picked up some backpack-sized bundle full of coke*--& then lost it. The dream ended with me in a hotel room with a Mexican dope dealer & a couple (or was it three?) of his enforcers
*Not the liquid kind that comes in bottles & rots your teeth.
(cont.) ...the dealer was listening to me explain how I got such a dumb idea to begin with.

As a Jew, I'm embarrassed by Jon Stewart.
I also feel disappointed... Stewart is just one example. What happened to us? We used to be known for hilarity...Woody Allen was great for his day & time. Mel Brooks, Jack Benny, Gene Wilder, Mort Sahl, Gilbert Gottfried, etc. Then, at some point...we started sliding. Consider that Jerry Seinfeld was way better on the immortal sitcom with his name than he ever was as a stand-up comic--which says something, since Larry David wrote most of the material for the show. (David is Jewish too, but still...) Then came Sarah Silverman...not very good. Then came Amy Schumer: one of the most unfunny comediennes to ever get behind a mic. Adam Sandler is basically a one-trick pony as far as his humor & acting go...then there's Seth Rogen. 🤮
The only possible exception to the above is Sacha Baron-Cohen...but even so. He's clearly talented, but Baron-Cohen wouldn't be half as effective if his characters didn't go freakishly too far. I think he uses that as a crutch. Also, he's British--not American.
What happened to us?....All I can think of is a few of the same factors behind the decline of the United States have also affected my people, at least when it comes to our comedic talent.

Maybe 7Cups does help people...if so, surely one reason is that it's moderated. Sure, the mods can be a bit heavy-handed at times but this place is at least somewhat supportive for the same reason.
Lately I've started to question the common assumption that freedom of speech is part of a coherent basis for social order, let alone "good" or "just". Because you can go on any "social media" platform & if you read the comments for long enough--sometimes not long at all, depending on the subject--you'll come across comments & users so toxic, they're practically radioactive.
It's amazing how some people can fulminate against hate speech...& then indulge in it themselves. I guess one kind is verboten while another kind is A-ok.
