Feelings of loneliness

Hey, I hope this fits here, this is a short response to the question of describing how loneliness feels to me:

Imagine if you're drowning, choking from lack of air in the lungs, but... it never ends, and you won't die from it.

Swimming in the middle of an ocean, without any eyesight, the choking sensation is endless, the weight of the water is heavy on you, fishes everywhere, but none stays with you.

The feeling of suffocating in the water, without dying, and yet while being surrounded by much fishes.

If you open your eyes, the water might be salty, and it burns your eyes.

If you open your mouth, the water might be poisonous, and it gets in your body.

And how do different people might react to this?

Some people just give up and feel it.

Some people reach their hands out of the water, seeking help, even if they're in the middle of the ocean with no one close.

Some pretend to play with the fishes, to distract themselves from the pain of suffocating.

And some, swim to the sharks, and choose to be eaten and killed by them instead of the endless feeling of drowning.

Some even try to befriend the sharks, because it may be their only choice.

Loneliness, is it a prison, or freedom?

Reaching out hurts.

Nobody understands.

Those who help will help out of pity.

Others will pretend to help but deep down, they are snakes.

With no friends, you won't get judged, have your privacy breached, get forced to do what you don't want.

A blessing, or a curse?

Freedom, or a prison?

I wonder...

You won't be judged...

You won't be forced...

You can be yourself, but at what cost?

Is it worth it?

Living freely, without being forced, without a connection?

Or living in a prison filled with connection, while losing yourself?
