Small win today, but still feeling unsure where I fit

Today felt a little different in a good way. I got up early and didn’t stay stuck in that sad, heavy feeling I’ve had the past couple weeks. I went to the rec center and worked on glazing my pottery, which I’ve been putting off, so I’m really glad I showed up and got some things done.

I even asked about volunteering there. They said the director handles that, but she’s not in right now because she was in a car accident, which I was surprised to hear. I felt kind of awkward asking, especially since I already work 6 days a week, so I don’t even know how realistic it is for me.

Socially, it was a mix. Some people were nice or warmed up to me a bit, which meant a lot. Others still felt kind of cold, and that made me question whether I really belong in ceramics spaces like that.

Still, I’m trying to focus on the positives. I showed up, I made progress, and now I’m just sitting in the sun at home enjoying a quiet moment before work. It’s not perfect, but it feels like a step.

I guess I’m wondering, has anyone else felt like an outsider in a creative space at first? Does it get easier over time?

@jadedhue

It definitely does get easier.

I'm proud of you for trying.

Change can be scary but sometimes we need it to shake up our routine 🥰💙
