Sometimes you have to close a door🚪to open➡️a window 🪟

I know how hard it is to close a door. Even a door that leads to a room that no longer feels safe, or warm, or right. Because behind that door is the familiar. The known.

The “at least I know what to expect.” And on the other side of a closed door? Uncertainty. Emptiness. Fear. 🌑

So we leave the door half‑open. We stand in the hallway, one foot in, one foot out, exhausted from the indecision. We tell ourselves: “Maybe it will get better.” And sometimes it does. But sometimes… it doesn’t. And staying becomes its own kind of slow suffering. 😔

Here’s what I’ve come to believe: closing a door is not an ending — it’s a redirection.

Because when one door closes, your eyes are finally free to look elsewhere. And that’s when you might notice a window you never saw before. A small opening. A breath of fresh air. A new way forward that was always there, hidden behind the noise of the old door. 🌬

That window might look like a new friendship, a quieter life, a different job, or simply the return of your own peace. You won’t see it until you stop staring at the closed door.

So, if you’ve been standing in that hallway for too long… maybe today you give yourself permission to turn around. Close the door gently. And look for the light. 💜
