The final wisdom tooth pity party and updates
Hey there, getting my last tooth out in like 12 hours! I'm scared, especially since I strained my sinuses and now my ears and throat sting. My brother Is also sick right now so I'm terrified of catching it. I will be whining a lot in this thread in true post wisdom tooth cat fashion. So grab some muffins and let's get this pity party going 🥳
DAY 10 UPDATE:
Woke up with a bit of *** saliva so started the morning with a complete panic. Where did it come from is a mystery, but I suspect the mouthwash was a bit too soon, as the stitches are still in and it probably dried to wound out without having a proper out and re-moisturising opportunity like it would have in an open wound case. So decided to not use it today unless I bite myself from the swelling. It's certainly going down and I seem to move my head back better now.
Otherwise been an absolute menace today. Called my doctor to make an appointment, picked up some shifts for the next month and working on scheduling some baking hangout with my loved ones next month. I also fixed a plushie my boyfriends puppy chewed up. Couldn't do much about the eyes being scratched from teeth, but at least mended the holes and did a little bit of my beta read I'm currently finishing up. Yay.
I'm still not fully back at my abilities as I can't bend or lift too much, but as you can see I'm already bored out of my mind. But so is my OCD, and it made an absolute event out of retryign inhaler. Damn I didn't realise how normal life felt not using it and now I'm stuck with a complete and utter panic of
- I dislodged my clot
- I will have an allergic reaction to it
- I will get an infection of the wound
So OCD is ocding, but at least I rinsed the mouth piece out so it has no residue. Hoping for the best (and medicine survival) lol

@Amanda84 thank youuu ❤️ I'm so bored out of my mind but I also can't return safely to work yet so I'm stuck in the best of all worlds. Should not go out unless I have to to not get sick, not able to safely work yet, feeling good enough to have my brain back at least partially, but that also means getting an entire shipment of ocd delivery to make up for the last week when i was too exhausted and in pain to actually think I'm dying 😂 but hey, a lot of procrastinated things are getting done, like the admin calls/emails i had to manage or manual time consuming things like fixing the plushie.

@Amanda84 yesss. Boyo is a Biewer terrier and for some reason chewed this frog plushie up despite not minding the others. But badly wanting to play with this frog. We tried a dog vision filter to see how it looks and turns out it looks very fun in dog colours, with a very vibrant and fun colour blocking contrast, so that's why he wants to play with it so bad. But sadly it's a human plushie not made for dogs, so he did quite some holes at the eyes. So when I was visiting the last time I asked to take it with me to fix it and finally got around to it so I can return it when we see each other again 😊 but my OCD is really pulling a comedy character that starts to panic after things are done and I'm just sitting here like yep. This is the end 😂☠️
So your goal should be to work on those cultural foods posts, yeah? ;)

You can cry all you like, I had one impacted wisdom tooth surgically removed back in 2006 and that was enough trauma for a lifetime ! Having more than one sounds like a horror show. Sending good healing vibes your way !! 🙏

I try not to think of it but I have potentially 3 more that can be removed and I don't fancy it. I am in my mid 60s now and recovery sucked bad enough in my 40s. Eek !! 😯

2 WEEKS UPDATE
Been to the dentist to get my stitches removed. He said it's healing well but is not done yet, and one or two stitches aren't ready to go yet. So we will check on it again in next 3 weeks if everything is okay. I'm worried about my newly exposed wound, but I'm at least going to survive today for sure

@RunningMachine there wasn't much to update besides constant swaying between thinking I'm about to kick the bucket thanks to my OCD and forgetting about my surgery completely 😂 so decided not to waste everyone's time with it. Currently, I'm panicking that my wound got unstitched, food will get into it and I will depart to the other side of the rainbow 🌈 so nothing changed as you can see 😁 and if I survive today, I can go to work on 7am tomorrow because inventory day. Unimaginable horrors for afternoon/evening shifter me 😭

@RunningMachine oh I am. I am a master of misinterpreted instructions because my brain sees at least two possible ways lol. And I usually pick the wrong one 😂 so trust me, they are working overtime up there 😂 like my dad said he will switch our cups as he took his off the table and put mine there and I stared at him trying to comprehend if he meant switch only cup placement or wants me to drink his tea instead of mine too 😂 you can go figure which one it was when i asked for clarification 😂
