The power of being a good person

Hopefully this will be my last post, I realized today that nothing really trumps being a good person, practically speaking that is. It seems like people want us to think that being good isn't an effective approach towards life the older we get. I noticed this first with relationships and second with income. We're encouraged to lie on our resumes, lie to people in general, be overly aggressive and vain, be bitter and resentful, greedy and selfish. All of these things shoot you in the foot. The more you lie the more you miss opportunities to build an actual skillset and resources. You lie about your income you miss the chance to make more money. You lie to get a job you miss the chance to actually learn the skills required to the job which would have given you options in the event you need to leave said job. You lie to your girlfriend and you end up dating a stranger who doesnt know you. Idk idk everything. Im just seeing that honesty leads to development which leads to power. Discipline leads to good health and self reliability, love leads to community and family, positivity makes the unbearable bearable. All.of these things make you powerful. I hate that I'm always in environments where people don't see that. There is nothing wrong with being a good person.
