Vanlifer Oct 15th
It's been 12 days since I started living in my car, so far I learned a lot, I learned that actually sleeping in a car is pretty comfortable for me anyway lol. I learned that the worst thing about living in a car is lack of privacy and that this can easily be fixed with me getting a van. I learned that housing in America is seriously predatory and that even when your not bothering anybody sleeping in your car it's treated like a crime and sometimes you feel like a fugitive when trying to sleep. I also learned that my area is beautiful and a lot safer than I ever thought it was. The biggest thing I learned however is that I've been wasting my life trying to make ends meet and keep up with a version of myself that isn't real. The longer I love in my car the more I accept my lot in life and I'm not ashamed of it at all. I get how I ended up here and I don't think it makes me a.bad person at all. I realized that in order to have the life in really want I have to do something different. What that is I don't know. I slowly stopped worrying about what people think too,.some think I'm a joke.some. hate me some are actually awesome people alot of.folks.are. very immature. Im learning that I need to have faith in my abilities or else I'll get nowhere, I have to be positve of my self.image and have confidence in that positivity or else I'll make.no progress. Being negative is simply an inefficient way to live, it's pointless. So is faking positivity the best bet is to actually be a realist in real life as long as you believe in yourself your situation may very well have a positive to.it it seems. Starting to listen to me more than I listen to others for once. Understanding the vue of self care also, boy do I stink lol. Im proud of myself for lasting al.ost 2 weeks, I'm glad I experienced this, I think I'll make.it my goal to maximize my growth from here on out, challenge accepted!!!

Interesting post and i congratulate you on finding your strength and experiencing so many fear and dread .... it is a wake up call to see how resilient you can be ........ many people would have not had the nerves to find out their ability to adapt .
Interesting...do keep us updated on this.
How do you keep clean? What about laundry? Also, it must be difficult to keep your stuff organized in a car. I would think a van would definitely be better for space, but it's also more obvious as an abode.
@slowdecline48 if I had money I'd definitely use a van instead just for the extra space and privacy, I shower at gyms like planet fitness which is a whole process, I still have the key fob to an old apartment so I just use the laundry room in there but if I didn't have that I'd use a laundr o mat, it's definitely a hassle i learned alot planning on making another updaye today that ks for asking
