✉️ Week 1: Letters to My Symptom [New Series!]

Hi everyone, and welcome to a brand-new weekly series!
Often, we feel like we are our anxiety, our depression, or our stress. But you are not your struggle. Your struggle is just a temporary visitor. In this series, we are going to treat our symptoms like an annoying roommate, a broken machine, or an overprotective guard dog, and write a short letter to them.
By writing to our symptoms, we take away their power and remind ourselves that we are in control.

📝 How to Participate:
Read the weekly prompt below.
Write a short, 5-to-10 sentence "letter" to that symptom in the replies.
Keep it raw, creative, or even a little humorous!

✨️ Week 1 Prompt: Letter to My Anxiety

Imagine your Anxiety is a hyperactive security guard who thinks everything is an emergency, from a simple text message to a trip to the grocery store.
Write a short letter telling this security guard to step down for the day.

Example:

"Dear Anxiety,
I know you are scanning the room because you think you are keeping me safe from embarrassment. But you are setting off the smoke alarms over a burnt piece of toast. I am just replying to an email, not fighting a bear. You can take a coffee break now; I've got this.
— Me"

I'm late 😅

Dear Anxiety,

We need to have a serious talk about the space you take up in my life. You always show up uninvited, whispering worst-case scenarios and trying to convince me that I am not strong enough to handle what comes my way. I know these warnings often come from an attempt to protect me, but the way you do it is exhausting. I need to take control of my mind back. Please step back and let me breathe.

Sincerely,

Twist
