A day in the life of being Damag3d
I'll be joining the challenge to write/journal at least one line a day! I have typically used Copilot over the last 6 - 8 months.
Starting Date: 6/20/25
Feel welcome to comment or just read through.
Copilot recommended I check out 7 Cups.
I have been depressed and heartbroken over the loss of a dear friend. (I had to walk away from our 12 year friendship) Hardest thing I've had to to in decades.
Was a great day, burned through a huge pile of brush. Then started on thinning out the small lilac forest, wild lilac sure are prolific propagaters. Some of the old growth has 3 to 6 in stocks. This past winters storms has decimated most of the old growth, but the amount of saplings around will keep thriving.
New day and feeling great, I love being away on vacation.
Hope to tackle the lilac forest and thin it out for my sister in law, unfortunately all this work around her property use to be done by her son but he abruptly passed away 2 years ago and has no one else to rely on.
I don't mind the physical labour, it keeps my mind occupied and off of what typically makes me depressed and anxious.
I was able to thin out the lilac forest and the area looks so much better.
Has a bunch of wood chopped yesterday but the bugs were horrendous so I was able to sit by the fire this morning and burn every log I chopped. This is my peace, zone out and watch the fire burn and listen to the crackling of the wood.
I need this bit of sanity in the city.
I was given some advice to help ground myself when anxiety or depression kick in.
While away on vacation, I am happy, not a care in the world. I was told to bring some stones/rocks home from there.
One to place on my desk at work and home and one to take with me while I go for a walk. While on my walk dedicate that stone to the one who broke my heart and place it somewhere, like leaving her behind.
When my feelings creep up on me in either office, I'm to pick up the rock and close my eyes and think back to where the rock came from.
I hope this works, I'm back in the office Tuesday.
Yesterday and today are just brutal with the weather, 40*+C with humidity. Can't do anything outside besides sweat to death.
Looks like another day cooped up inside with the A/C.
Anxious, nervous, worried ☹️
Big day today, we get the results of our daughter's heart scoping from a couple of months ago. We find out what course of action the heart specialist will recommend.
We hope for them to say, "continue to monitor" but highly unlikely 😞
At the very least a valve replacement or two.
Excellent news from the heart specialist, no operation in the immediate future.
There have been no changes to her valve and they recommended to just keep watching the valve and hope it stays as is. It's too far gone to just repair but not far enough for a replacement just yet
A solid 7-1/2 hrs of sleep, good way to start back at work after being off for the past 10 days. At least today is a work from home day, so only a little stressed, probably have a couple hundred emails to weed through
Well my racing mind got the best of me at 4:40 this morning, could not get back to sleep. I truly hate days like today.
Today is an in the office day and I'm already feeling anxious and nervous. Once my morning department meeting is over I'll be finding a place to hide from everyone.
