How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?

Some advantages of a diverse team are that the different perspectives and cultures of Listeners can provide better help and insight for our members around the world, and diversity can help those that speak other languages. We can also cover those in different timezones of the world.

We can be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups by respecting others' cultural beliefs as well as being mindful of schedules, availability, and timezones.

Please list some advantages of a diverse team.

* It humbles all of us as team members to know that what we know is just one of several. That what we know is just a part of a collective, and being a part of the collective means working towards co-existence. It heightens our senses in a way because it opens us up to different points of view, different perceptions, and different ways of life. It's quite humbling because it's a safe space where we can all download to our psyche new information and at the same time upload our own to share with the collective.

* The exchange of energies is simply intoxicating. Imagine seeing the world through each other's eyes. Plus the access to different people 24/7 is just legendary.

* The unlimited potential to learn, grow, improve, and develop. It's one of the best parts of having a diverse team <3

How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?

* Be open-minded. It means knowing when to comment and when to keep quiet. It means being self-aware in the context that not all situations reflect what you grew up in or is used to.

* Be more compassionate. There will be times when what you perceive as petty or a mere nuisance means a heavy burden and painful experience for someone. Respect for different cultures isn't just about what country or continent someone comes from; it's also about individual respect.

* Be conscious. Make a habit of consciously checking your words, thoughts, and emotions. Make sure that you aren't emotional when you speak and that you aren't overthinking things when you feel emotions.

#1: Some advantages of having a diverse team could be the following. Helping & supporting others outside the country, learning a wider set of skills outside of the country.

#2: I think a big thing to remember is the time difference along with holidays. Being mindful of the different times & different holidays that some of us may or may not have.

We can be respectful of different cultures on 7Cups by bringing self-awareness, educate ourself to expand our knowledge and cultural awareness, engage will tend to gravitate to people who share any culture, avoid stereotype and appreciate the differences.

Personally, I always come from a place of respect, it doesn’t matter if I don’t necessarily understand everything about every culture, it’s ok. I can look things up and I can ask questions, I would hope people would be receptive to my possible ignorance.

Please list some advantages of a diverse team.

Diversity is so important for me, coming from a background of mixed ethnicities.  I believe diversity and understanding it can be the glue that bonds us together.  Hearing other’s ideas from different places, cultures, and thinking can be creative, new and help produce more ways of out of the box thinking.  We merge as one even though we are in different time zones, ethnicities, backgrounds, beliefs, cultures.  Its so fascinating to hear another story or interpretation from another member or listener that I haven't thought of myself.

Being respectful of different cultures means active listening to new ideas and stories, being non judgemental, open minded, respectful, and that their life is not my life, so their struggles or past is not mine and learning about gives me knowledge and more insight of others.
