Hello, everyone!

On Tuesday, February 23rd, @bookworm274 and I hosted an Ask Me Anything [AMA] for the Leadership Development Programme [LDP] and the Forum Supporter [FS] role where everyone could join in to ask questions and get their answers! We are aware that some people were unable to join due to the time it was held so we decided to also put together this post so everyone can have the answers and also get the chance to ask questions in the comment that we will both be looking out for and answering!

Note: Both the LDP and the FS role are available to listeners and members! 🌟✨👀

Leadership Development Programme [LDP]:

Question: What is the LDP?

LDP is a programme that requires you to complete a range of activities within 5 courses. It is about developing leadership styles and getting a leadership role and giving back to the community! In order to graduate you need to complete all 5 courses and join a community leadership role, these can include Peer Supporter, Sharing Circle Host, Discussion Leader and Forum Supporter (which is why we joined these two together!) - if you’re unsure if your role counts there are plenty of mentors and team members involved for you to double-check!

Question: How long does the LDP take?

Answer: The length of the LDP depends on what pace you go at but remember to go through it carefully and do all of the tasks to the best of your ability to ensure that you get the most out of the programme! The time given to complete the programme is 2 months, so take this in to account when deciding whether or not you would like to participate!

FAQ

Forum Supporter [FS]:

Question: What is an FS?

Answer: An FS is a forum supporter which is a potential role you can have that will allow you to graduate LDP - but you don’t have to have done/be in the LDP to become a forum supporter!

Qeustion: What kinds of things do you need to write in the forums and how much freedom will I have?

Answer: It consists of you picking between 1-2 communities (adding a 3rd after 1 month in the role if you would like) and/or pick to be a needs reply FS to have a more general focus! You can create ice-breakers, host discussions, create support posts, answer member posts - things that bring the community together and help everyone feel welcomed! The requirement to remain an FS after receiving the badge is to make 10 posts per month!

Question: What kinds of things do you need to write in the forums and how much freedom do you get?

Answer: You can write pretty much anything and have a lot of freedom! You can write ice-breakers, support guides, AMA’s, respond to people’s posts such as the Share Your Story sections and more! It depends on the sub-forums that your chosen community has and what you are most interested in and passionate about. Of course, you can always double-check something with the CML of your community or a Teen Star or Project Agent if you’re unsure but as long as it follows 7Cups guidelines and any additional guidelines your community sets then it should be fine to post! Also, we try not to duplicate things too!

Question: How do you do check-ins?

Answer: Once you become a forum supporter you can do a check-in by creating your own thread in the sub-forum in your community which should be labelled something along the lines of ‘Daily check ins’ - you then create your check-in (perhaps look at recent check-ins already done to see if there are any specific things your community includes) and then post! When it has been posted you can then press the orange tick icon (that you will only have once you become a forum supporter) which sets it as the check-in for your community! Make sure to double-check with your CML though in case there is a schedule for who posts check-ins so you don’t post on another person’s day!
