yay! I am asexual have known for a while but I am really scared of being touched as well.. how do you tell someone (my mom and Dad) I’ll never be able to give them kids.... I am 13 and I think about this a lot because they keep saying “Oh when u have your kids...” makes me wanna day. “my adopted kids!” Cause Ya I will only adopt
@lilballofstress17 13 is pretty early for deciding what you'll want in the future...don't forget, you're only just in the beginning of puberty. It's still in the normal range for not experiencing sexual attraction yet. Not to say that someone 13 can't know their sexuality, but just that the ace spectrum specifically has a little cautious area. Less like "you can't identify as ace" but more like "don't set yourself in stone just yet, attraction could still come and it's okay if it does, or maybe it won't and that's okay too". I wouldn't be claiming to my parents just yet about the future when I was just 13, I probably also would have said I'm ace and will never be able to give them kids (I also thought that!) but boy did things change, even if it took a while, but it did, so I'm always cautious when very young people try to make wide-sweeping claims about a lack of attraction/not being comfortable with sex. Because at that age, it's not necessarily about sexual orientation as it could be just about age and readiness. It's a tricky ground sometimes. So, I guess, maybe give it some time before telling your parents you'll never had biological kids? They shouldn't really be expecting that from a 13 year old child anyways!
Ya I see what your saying. It’s just. Well I have always known that I am extremely uncomfortable with some things as well. For example I have a back trigger if anyone and I mean anyone even loved ones touch my back I panic and either fight back or I just cry. I know that I want to adopt kids thow and I got a felling it won’t change
@lilballofstress17 it's possible it won't change, for sure. For me, I was "touch sensitive" for many years, from probably puberty to after high school, where it physically hurt if someone touched my skin, I had zero interest in relationships or intimacy (identified as asexual near the end of high school), 100% did not want kids, and really felt that it's how I was and what I wanted in life. But probably around 21 or 22 that changed completely, I have no issues with touch, want kids, marriage, etc, which younger me would probably not have believed! So anyways that's just my personal story about how drastically things can change as you age and your brain develops more. It's more of "if it changes, don't be hard on yourself or resist change just because it's not what you were before", not saying "don't be how you are now" :) adoption is great! I literally would not be alive if people didn't adopt kids, so never going to discourage that xD
