I left the love of my life who I had been together with for 5 years with almost no issues or quarrels. He was almost perfect for me. Unfortunately we had to be separated because I had to return to my home country during the pandemic

During my most vulnerable time, 4 months ago I met a new straight colleague who was being very kind and supportive to me. He is a fuckboy who flirts with every female out there so I was pretty sure he is a straight. I tried to resist his charms but failed hard because he was surprisingly flirty and we are both guys! We go to the gym together every morning and we would worship each other to the point where I would question his sexuality. Of course, every time he exhibits signs of being sexually attracted to me, it would be when it's just the 2 of us alone...

After that, just several days ago while we were together on our business trip, we literally cuddled in the evening and chatted in that position for the whole night. He was somewhat passive but he literally let me and even encouraged me to touch him all over without resisting. He was very kind the very next morning too.

.....and that's where it stopped. The past 2 days he has suddenly been avoiding me. It's almost comical how extreme his behaviour changed, I'm not sure if I scared him or he is denying his sexuality or interest in me or whatever. He just stopped being the normal and friendly him, he went from hot to a very abrupt cold.

I'm trying to give him time and space because I have nasty experiences with being needy and clingy before. It just devastates me to realize I'm once again at this point in life. I crushed over a straight person who showed mixed signs and then I'm being left alone blaming my sexuality. My self-esteem has taken a serious hit and I need your advice...

Hello @Chestnut88

This sounds really confusing and frustrating. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this <3 This isn't your fault though! I know it is easier said than done, but please try not to blame yourself for this and let this seriously affect your self-esteem. You are more than this one event :)
