I identify as male, but I'm struggling to understand my desire to enjoy feminine things like women's underwear, tights, dresses, painted nails, etc. I don't understand how to make sense of it or explain the reason for the desire. I don't know if it's sexual or identity based or what I hope to get from it. it's just a confusing desire I don't know how to explain

I don't know where the desire comes from and what I hope to get out of it.

I don't think it means I want to identify or even present as a woman. But I don't know what other reasons there might be for my desires.

What are some of the reasons people enjoy the clothing and expression of the opposite gender?

There can be many reasons people enjoy cross dressing, and while for some they may be related to understanding their gender identity, for others it can be be that doing so is seen as being "taboo", so doing what they aren't supposed to or have been forbidden from doing so to speak which can be a thrill. For others it's simply because they like nail polish or dresses or certain colours. Reality is, there can be a lot of different and valid reasons for liking something.

Perhaps you relate to one of the examples above, perhaps not. But keep in mind just because you enjoy something doesn't have to mean it has some hidden meaning.
