@Kai0909

Dealing with dysphoria is definitely a difficult experience. When it comes to gender dysphoria, I know some find gender affirming actions can be the main strategy to overcome the dysphoria. Do you have any ideas about what you might find affirming?

@Kai0909 Hi Kai, I'm sorry that dysphoria is causing you trouble. Thats excellent that you feel confortable letting other people know how you identify. Do you have any other people you know or are friends with people that struggle with feeling dysphoria? I feel like i'm just realizing at 29 how important it is to feel validated by the people that you are closest to and to be taken seriously. Iv'e found having a consistent exercise schedule is a great way to feel overall more positive about oneself. In my experience, I almost always feel better after going for a walk or doing some other cardio type exercise.

Having other people around to relate to or people who at least make an active effort to lisiten to you is very affirming. Obviously, I don't know your life situation but those are 2 major things Iv'e found to be very affirming from my experience. Hope this is helpful in any way.

I don't know if your ftm, mtf, or neither, but I'm genderqueer/fluid and these are some things that help me:

on femme days i wear corset-like tops and since i have short hair i put on a bandanna and make it look like i have long hair and bangs.

on masc days i wear baggy clothes and rings (idk why they just give me euphoria) and bind if i feel like i need to

lmao i just saw the ftm thing at the top of your post and realized my first response made no sense sorry about that

I would try binding (be safe) and wearing baggy clothes. you can also find make up tutorials that make your face look more masc.

Hey, fellow trans guy here!

Every bad dysphoria day is different, but I like to wear some comfy, baggy clothes and chill out. Sometimes doing work helps me push gender stuff to the back of my brain, but sometimes hobbies like guitar and writing help more. I also like to eat ny favourite snacks and if I'm feeling up to going out, I'll see some close friends who "get it" (mostly my trans friends LMAO)

I think long term, you just need to keep affirming to yourself and also reading up on gender and dismantling gender roles really helped me. If you haven't already, save up and buy binders, packers etc... Working out helps as well, there's MtF workout tutorials on YouTube, *** and similar

Remember your body is there to keep you alive, not to look whatever way you think it should, and that men come in all shapes and sizes. Majority of what you feel dysphoric about also happens to cis men!

This is my first ever post here so apologies if it's formatted weird/I rambled lol

Dysphoria comes from a lot of places, it can be overwhelming and hard for anyone to manage. Do what you can and see what feels right. The first step to working through dysphoria or dysmorphia is to get comfortable with where it's stemming from.
