advice for a trans man-

so im a 16 y/o trans man. ive been out for a few months and all of my friends and my boyfriend use the correct pronouns and call me by my preferred name.

the problem is that i used to have a friend in middle school (who knew me when i went by my deadname and old pronouns bc i didnt know i was trans and shes completely ok with my name and pronouns now) and she moved away and we’ve been trying to keep in touch and shes like my best friend. we know so much about eachother and we’re so close. i love her to de@th. but something about her calling me by my preferred name doesnt feel right. i trust her and all, but i feel like im somehow burdening her, like im making her uncomfortable with my name. i told her she can call me by my deadname and im ok with her using my deadname, but just her-

i dont really know why or if theres a name for it? any opinions on this??

I dont know much about it but i guess that as you both knew eachother from a long time and had a great friendship before coming up as trans too, that might feel a bit weird to both.

Try spending more time together and hang out with eachother.

Well dude I'm glad u came out and ppl respect ur name and pronouns:)

They're genuinely nothing wrong with caring about urself and doing what feels comfortable.Put your feelings first bc YOU are the most important person in your life.

I get what u been about the awkwardness of getting ppl to call u ur right pronouns etc,I'm a trans.guy too and sometimes ESPECIALLY AT THE START OMG it feels weird saying 'hey can u call me ___'.

And trust me ,your not burdening her by being urself, she's ur friend :)

(Sorry this is all over the place ,what a ramble🥴)
