I'm not too sure if this helps but,
once I knew I was trans I stayed in the closet for a while. I was very nervous to come out to my parents, so I came out to my closest friends first. It was kind of a test run. Then I came out to my parents. I do not live in a religious/conservative family, so it's definitely different. If you do not live with your parents, then it might help in case they kick you out.
Hope this helps, good luck.
I have so much to say. Same boat. Can i ask how you knew you liked men?
@creativeMoon8673 Interestingly enough, I was outed by someone else, right before I was about to come out. I think it was Thanksgiving. It also could have been around Christmas. My family, especially my parents, were conservative Christians. They had me take a class to try to make me straight. With the help of a family member, that family member told my parents that it wasn't right, with their class. It was hard for my parents, and it took time. Eventually, I was able to bring my partner to family things, but it took a while. My Dad, from my understanding, is still against it. He gave an answer thag I felt was still not accepting when I asked him about it. I think he is still, partially trying to get me to change, even though that's not how it works. I am who I am. You can't just wish yourself to not be guy.
In regards to not thinking you are that way, it's completely normal and understandable. It was a big process for me to accept it for myself. I even tried to change it, but it is what it is. I hope that helps!

If you dont think they will receive the news well, think about it. Do YOU need to let it out and say it to them? Even if you're may be harmed if you do? It depends on the person. Especially if you live with them, I would say dont tell it to people you think could harm you, or out you to the rest of the family.
