i am really starting to think on my identity
I am new to this so please bear with me, but recently I have starting questioning my identity. Not in a bad way, but more so it would feel comfortable to me. I do not want to be restricted to feeling like or being percieved as a guy because sometimes honestly its nice to feel pretty like a girl and I even imagine dressing up in a costume as some of my favorite girl characters. I just feel a bit down since my whole like my family has been making sure my masculinity is driven in my head 😓. I don't know what it would be called since I don't want to be seen as just a guy even though i am fine with it, but I also would be honestly really okay if someone referred to me as a girl. Thank you for reading!

Thank you for sharing 🥰
I appreciate how difficult it is for you to navigate these feelings!
But it's important to feel comfortable with who you are and do what feels comfortable for you 💙🤗

Hello, tfb1111.
I want to start by being completely honest with you. Some time ago, I used to look at these types of forums and topics with a lot of rejection; I simply didn't like or understand any of it. However, seeing messages as genuine as yours has made me reflect. I realize now that, beyond labels or debates, behind every screen there is a real person trying to figure out who they are and looking for a safe space to breathe.
What you are feeling is completely valid. Here are a few neutral points that might help you process this moment:
Don't rush into labels: You don't need an exact term (like non-binary, genderfluid, or trans) overnight. Language is meant to help us understand ourselves, not to lock us into new boxes. It is okay to explore step by step.
Separate your exploration from your family environment: It is completely normal to feel down when your family pushes for a traditional type of masculinity. Remember that your internal exploration belongs only to you; you can allow yourself to experiment with clothes or your thoughts in safe spaces (like this one) without the pressure of having to prove anything to the outside world just yet.
Allow yourself to enjoy what makes you feel good: If imagining yourself dressing up as your favorite girl characters makes you happy, or if you like the idea of being referred to as a girl, embrace it. Identity doesn't have to be a source of distress; it's also about discovering what brings you comfort and joy.
Take your time. The journey of knowing yourself is not a race. Wishing you all the best in your search!
