I feel like I don’t belong here.
I have come to terms with the fact I’m bisexual. I have found women attractive for a while but never wanted to admit it because I felt I had no right to. I believe I had no right to because I had been heterosexual for so long, and I was ashamed how some heterosexuals have treated the LGBTQ community. Quite frankly, I felt fake and undeserving of being bisexual. Even worse, I’m bisexual with a preference for men, as a cisgender woman. I feel horrible whenever I like a man because I feel like I’m supposed to like women more, that I’m wrong and barely even a bisexual, when I watch all these other bisexual people liking their same gender more and I feel so out of place. I honestly barely feel like I belong in this forum. My friends try to reassure me that I’m still bi and valid but I just can’t take it from them when they’re bi with a preference for the same gender.
Hi! First off I want to reassure you not all heterosexuals are like that. I am straight and I welcome LGBTQ+ with warmpth. You know, I was actually born into a high control religion that teaches LGBTQ+ are unacceptable. However I have since broken free of that high control religion and now understand that your sexual feelings and urges as a bisexual are just as valid as my feelings and urges as a heterosexual. As far as your sexual identity goes, a simibisexual is someone who likes both genders but has a preference to one. Maybe you should consider yourself simi-bi in the meantime but as far as your confusion around your sexual identity goes. Just give yourself time, time, and more time. There's no rush here. And you don't even really have to know what you are, just follow your heart and listen to your feelings. Your soulmate will come along no matter what gender they may be. Just trust yourself and don't rush. It will be fine in the end.
Hey I feel you. I’m bi, and I don’t really know I have a preference, but all the crushes I’ve ever had have been on boys. Honestly, if you’re bi, you’re bi, no matter what your preference is. You like males more, so what? You’re still completely valid. I’ve seen a few people on here that are dating opposite gender while being bisexual, and I’m sure you’re not the only one feeling this way.
