TW: homophobia

I was 11 when i found out about LGBTQIA+ i wasn't that interested and i didn't understand many things about LGBTQIA+. I started questioning my sexuality at like middle 11 years old? I was very very confused and then i figured out my sexuality. bisexual. i was so sure of it i had a strong feeling that i was bisexual and many signs in my dreams indicated that i was bi. My stubborn dumb ass thought that my loving mother would be "supportive" because "shes loving and kind and understanding" I was wrong. after my first (( and last )) therapy session, in the car, my mom told me she wanted to talk to me. She told me about how It's "Impossible for gays to exist" and there's "no such thing as transgender" and i was heavily uncomfortable, that "talk" left me with some trauma. She said many harmful things abt gays. in my country people treat lgbtqia+ like a "taboo topic" and it really hurts, its illegal to be lgbtqia+ in my country and the punishment for being lgbtq is also death. Its very dangerous for anybody to express their sexuality and identity here.

Year later. Im deeply affected by the homophobic talk and i've been in the closet for so long. I didnt come out to my close school friends (( i love them sm they're supportive of lgbtqia+ and most are lgbtq too :) )) because i was really scared, I was questioning my sexuality and then i came to terms that i really WAS bisexual ^^ then guess what, my mom gave me another homophobic talk, it hurt less tho. her second talk actually gave me more courage and bravery to come out to my friends. thanks Mom. So rn I came out to 2 of my friends. i've faced lots of homophobia and its honestly rlly dangerous in this country to come out. cant explain how dangerous. people here think its "against religion" and "wrong" and stuff. its not. Im a proud Bisexual.

Ty for listening to my story <3

@Roxart that took a lot of courage to come out to your friends, both from knowing how difficult it is to be lgbt in your country, and after having to go through hurtful conversations with the people you thought would be loving. It's funny that your mom's attempts to bash on being lgbt actually inspired you to reach out to people you trust, I'm happy that you had friends like that. I hope you can all be good supports for each other and that you all stay safe ❤

@Roxart Proud of you for coming out with your friends, especially knowing the risks you could face. Having homophobic parents is so painful, but it's pretty ironic that your mom's second anti-lgbtq rant led you to partially come out. I wish you all the best in staying safe in your country <3
