My parents don’t allow my girlfriend and i to sleepover even thought we have multiple times because my parents were unaware of my relationship with her and thought we were friends. Any advice how to deal with this situation? Do you think it’s unfair or am i being unreasonable

@easyWatermelon6548 well, on one hand, it does make sense they would change their opinion of sleeping over knowing that you're dating. Lots of parents don't want their child's partner sleeping over, mostly because of "fears" around engaging in intimacy. So, I guess in a way, it's nice they're viewing you as an actual couple? But I'm guessing some unacceptance could be playing a role there too, which isn't fair to anyone really. And, seeing as you have an adult account, it doesn't seem right for your parents to still be telling you when you can see your own girlfriend or what you can do with her. I don't think it's an over-reaction to feel upset about it, generally parents that do that have to face a lot more backlash and their children hiding stuff from them than if they were just more open and tolerant :P

How do i deal with situation then? I still live with my parents so I feel as though I have to follow their rules. But my girlfriend is tired of not being able to sleepover and hang out late. What do i do??

@easyWatermelon6548 hmm it is a tricky situation. I imagine it would likely involve a conversation with your parents. You might be able to explain to them that you're an adult and can be responsible for your own actions now, or maybe that their trust would mean a lot to you. You understand their concern, but it's important for you to have this freedom and be trusted and respected. You might also be able to strike a "deal" with them, maybe if they let her stay over you will help out extra or do a favour for them. I suppose there could also be the option of just having her stay over anyways? What are they going to do, forcibly remove her? (If they might actually do that maybe that's not a good idea haha). On the other hand, talking to your girlfriend about the situation more could be an option. It's understandable for her to be frustrated, but sometimes some patience and understanding is needed in tough situations. Maybe together you could come up with some alternatives, such as stay at her place, or maybe once a month stay at a hotel, or spend more time together during the day, things like that. I'm sure there are probably other options too, but those are things that came to my mind
