a lil newbie here
hi! i’m new to this but i thought i’d give it a try. i’m queer and ive known that for quite sometime & have recently started coming out to some people but not the ones closest to me. i’m too afraid to do so. and sometimes it just makes me question if (and ik as lame as this sounds) i am valid or if i’ll ever get to be me.
Hi @selfdisciplinedMelon69. I'm sorry that you're currently going through these hardships. Initially, I just want to let u know that your feelings, struggles, and who u are as a person are all completely valid. You're not weak for struggling with self doubt and the fears of whether or not you'll ever be your true self. I think it's important that u speak about being queer only with people who u feel comfortable with and trust for now. I think as you continue to come of age and experience life more, you'll feel more comfortable in your own skin and be more comfortable with embracing who u are. I think u just need time for yourself to figure things out and understand yourself more to decide what is best for yourself. It can be hard to come out to the ones closest to u since u probably don't want to tarnish the strong relationships u have with them. But I believe if those people think less of u for being queer, they're probably not people worth keeping around in your life. Your sexual orientation doesn't change who you are, and you're not any less of a person for whatever orientation u possess. Hope this helps! Hang in their man. And remember, you're not alone.
