How to accept you'll always be alone?

First thread here.

I know what I like and who I've liked, but with that being said, due to cultural reasons and shitty dating experiences, I find it easier understanding that this whole "love" concept is made for some people and eludes others, especially in the lgbt community. How do you make amends with the lonely feeling of knowing you'll never be wanted and accept you may be alone for a good majority of your life?

At this point, I just vicariously live through media and other people's relationships because what else am I capable of doing?

Here's how you accept it - you don't. Has some cosmic being appeared to you in your room late at night and foretold the fated prophecy that you are doomed to be alone and unloved no matter what you do? I strongly doubt it, so just don't accept it. You're going through a rough time, that's all. It can take a long time to find a good mate worth being with. You can also accept that being single and being in a relationship both have all kinds of pros and cons.

Enjoy being single while you can because, trust me, sometimes once you're in a relationship, no matter how good it is, there will always be some things you'll miss about being alone, answering only to and for yourself, etc. Don't fall into the trap of just wanting a relationship. 9 times out of 10 that's how people desperately end up in crappy relationships and they are not worth it. Believe me, trust me, listen to me....it is NOT better to be in a bad relationship than it is to be alone. Never.

You're being too hard on yourself. Make your life at the moment all about you and love yourself, be gentle with yourself, and the more you do that the more likely you will be to draw the right person right to you. But if you're down on yourself all the time and if you try to accept that you'll "always be alone" then guess what? You totally will. Sounds like you don't want to be alone though, so, to reiterate, just don't accept it. Don't or you will make it true and seal your own fate with your own maudlin resignation.
