hi everyone, hope you’re having a lovely day. after being asked out on a date by a guy, i realized that i might be a lesbian. i understand that i’m young and there’s no rush for me to identify myself but i have done a lot of reflecting. one thing i realized is that while i’m not attracted to men, i still wish i was or i could say i have a boyfriend. a small part of me thinks i just need to wait for the right guy, but that’s not how it works. i’m feeling pretty torn any advice or kind words would be appreciated, ty! <3

Discovering yourself is great. I understand the need for someone can be hard. However, you cannot force fate^^. I would try to keep my eyes open and if you see someone, of any gender, that you like, just try! There is no rush to find the right one

I struggle and still struggle with this. There is not rush, though I know how anxious it can be to know who you are attracted too. If you are lesbian, you could be struggling with accepting you don’t like men and what you possibly envisioned for your life is what you no longer want. It may feel like your mourning or grieving something, am I correct?

yes! part of my realization is that i really like the idea of men but not men themselves, so apart of coming to terms with this feels like i’m losing that fabricated idea i’ve had for so long
