just need some validation
hi!! i'd identified as bi for about a year before realizing i might be a lesbian. i've beed identifying as lesbian for a short while now and still sometimes i get so illogically scared that "what if im faking being attracted to women". for so much of my life i forced myself to try and like guys and i get so scared that i'm doing the same thing with girls even though the attraction i've felt to women is actually a good feeling. i also have zero interest in pursuing relationships w men and i really would like to have a gf at some point so these feelings i know are illogical but could i get some validation up in here haha

I think the good feeling you get from your attraction to women is a sign that you're aligned with your heart's desire. Your heart will never lead you astray. Sometimes people refer to their gut instinct or gut feeling. I tend to think this is the same concept, just expressed another way.
If you can check in, really connect with that gut feeling, or heart feeling, you will notice that anything that feels like an "A-ha!" moment of discovery, like "yes, this is true for me!" is invariably the right thing *for you* to do or be. For example, I'm a guy and I love the way I feel when I am drawn to another man. And it doesn't have to be a sexual attraction, but it can be the way he exudes strength without being an asshole about it, or the way he cares for children or animals, or works in the garden or the farm. I like women and have many female friends that I love in a different way and would always jump to help them if they need it. But with guys, it's just different. It has a warm, tingly feeling, almost electric, that I just don't get with women. And that's okay! :) I suspect it's kinda the same for women who are drawn to women. :)
I like the words of the lesbian poet, Mary Oliver, who is sadly passed away. In her poem "Wild Geese" there's one line that I want to share. It goes like this:
"You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves...."
