Coming out

Growing up, I never was comfortable with my assigned gender.

I never liked heels, dresses, makeup and/or anything that made me feel "feminine". There are times when I would breakdown over using the girl's bathroom instead of the boy's bathroom, or get mad at my mother for forcing me to wear dresses and skirts when I wanted to wear baggy clothes, jackets and gym shorts. Every thought or dream I had, I would never refer to or see myself as a girl. I was always a boy and it made me feel happy.

I never knew what it was at first because I was so young at the time. But as I grew up, the feelings got stronger and stronger but I didn't want to tell my family, especially my mother. I have no bond with my mother and we never had the same ideals. Same goes to most of my relatives out there. If they found out that I Identify as a trans male, they would never talk to me again, my mom would definitely kick me out and/or send me to a hospital. They don't support LGBTQ at all.

But despite that, 3 siblings and a few friends support my decision and I'm happy to have some support than nothing.

Not sure where to start on this trans journey tho.

@Syn890 Coming out is a difficult decision, especially when when you are feeling unsafe. You have been brave by coming out to a few friend already, and I'm glad you have their support! Balancing safety and being true to yourself can be tough, so I know where you are coming with with feeling uncertain about how to get started. What steps do you think would be most important to help you feel more comfortable in your skin?
