Hi, I'm Zoey I've been gay for the past two years. Well, life has been good in those two years. I've been happy my friends and everyone seem to accept me so I wanted to come out to my parent but I just don't know how to do it. Having been raised in a strong Christian believe I just don't know how they would react to me being gay. I'm so stressed by that I need my parents support and there's no way it is going to happen if they don't approve me being gay. I would love anyone to help me out I would really appreciate it. Thank you all.

We accept you and appreciate you here too 😊

I am glad life has been going good for you,

I don't have any experince coming out as i cannot safely come out to my parents or anyone in my family so that my affect my point of view or advice ,just to keep it in check.

I have a limited advice but i'm here until someone can come with better advice than me

remember if you feel family won't be accepting to you or won't understand it's better to wait until financial independence, if you are independent now but need them to be supportive i understand its a difficult situation, i hope if you choose to come out to parents that they will be accepting , make sure that the outcome will be good and take your time especially if they are not likely to be supportive, sometimes our parents don't understand certain things about us so while you need or want their acceptance make sure that they won't be dismissive or unaccepting, maybe someone else in 7Cups can offer an advice for giving them smallest hints at first to see how they react to the possibility

@XantiPrism

Thank you so much❤️it means a lot having people who got your back and I appreciate your advice. Well your advice is really helpful I do want to be free and get accepted by family but its just so scary I'm the only person who's gay in our family history. Im 16 and I guess its gonna take more than two years to be financially independent.

@lightPond3856 Hello. I appreciate you sharing and completely understand the feeling of stress around your parents may not accepting that you are gay. I can tell you that there is no timeline for coming out to anyone. You can do it on your own terms and when you feel ready. From personal experience, I know many people wait until they have a strong support system in case their families do not accept them. Others just come out to their parents and move forward from there; whatever their reactions are. I would encourage you to not pressure yourself into coming out. I believe you will know when the time is right for you.
